Year 2 had a visit from the fire service to talk about fire safety. On their web page you can see some photographs and information for you on keeping your house fire safe. (Free smoke alarms are available).

This month: 8th New equipment being installed into the junior playground thanks to funding by the PTA. 10th Pyjama Party in the afternoon organised by the school council to raise money for our chosen charity. £2 donation. 14th – 17th Half term 16th Apex Football Club 23rd Yr5/6 Indoor athletics 24th Coffee Morning incorporating the Phonic and Maths Games Libraries Our Yr4 Speed Stackers had a great morning today competing in the St Albans competition. The girls came 2nd overal and the boys came 5th. Oscar won two medals in the individual competitions coming second and third. Don’t forget our Coffee Morning next Friday. It will be chance to borrow maths or phonic games to play at home. We have a range of maths games for all year groups right up to Year 6.
We have been contacted by a child minder in the village who has spaces for drop off and pick up. Please contact the school office for details.
Remember to collect unwanted clothes, shoes, bedding, curtains, belts and handbags for our ‘Phil the Bag’ day on 29th March. A bag will be provided nearer the time.
The school council have organised a pyjama afternoon on Friday 10th February to raise money for our chosen charity. Details of the charity can be found on the School Council web page. They are asking children to bring a £2 donation which will include providing refreshments for everyone.
Remember “Swishing” – an event to de-clutter and refresh your wardrobe. This Saturday 7.30pm at Colney Heath School. All monies raised will go to supporting ‘Cancer Hair Care’ charity.

- This is another reminder that the Staff Car Park is for staff only. There have been a growing number of incidents where parents have reversed back down the drive narrowing missing children.
- Please ensure your child has plimsolls in school as this helps keep the classrooms cleaner.

It has been a very windy and cold start to the new term, so please remember to send the children to school in warm coats, gloves, hats and suitable shoes. Unfortunately the Apex Holiday club will not go ahead due to a lack of numbers. They hoping to offer something similar for the Spring half term and the Easter holidays. Details to follow.
Wow what a busy week we have had.
Year 1 and 2 put on a fantastic performance of Prickly Hay, which was enjoyed by everyone who was lucky to see it. See class pages for photos.
The carol concert at St Mark’s Church this morning was lovely. It’s a great opportunity to get all the children together and share songs they have learnt over the past few weeks.
Christmas dinner was a great success.
Yr4 sang at the Over 60′s Christmas Dinner and as always brought the house down.
PTA. Our Craft Fair was highly successful with over £1,000 raised, which is up from last year. It was a lovely event and thanks goes to all of you who support this event. A special thanks goes to the committee who organised everything before, during and after the event. The children have given us a target of £5,000 to raise so we can purchase a number of structures for the junior playground.
