Year 2

Class Trip to Knebworth House!

We visited Knebworth house to learn all about How Plants Grow. We started our day on the coach where we behaved beautifully, including our lovely singing that kept the adults interested. We touched and smelt many herbs and discussed how these could be used, from cooking to medicine! We looked at lots of wonderful trees and guessed how old they were, the trees were older than our grownups!

We also go to explore the adventure playground and the dinosaur trail which was a lovely treat!

Welcome back for Summer Term! We have hit the ground running with a busy term already! Swimming has been a total hit and I am honestly so proud of all of your children and their skills, including their resilience and support of one another. It has been lovely to watch them all and see the improvements they have all made too!

I am looking forwards to lots of fun things this Term, including our school trip and a variety of exciting learning.

Mill Green Bread Mill - Great Fire of London

We visited the Mill Green Bread Mill for a workshop about the Great Fire of London. Although we are experts on all the dates and facts, it was so interesting to see the artefacts and to go inside a real life mill! We even made our own bread, although luckily without starting any fires! We did a dig for buried items to help us understand more about the past, as well as we as grinding our own flour.

We ended the day with a bucket race to see how people had to pass the water from the River Thames to the fire, to put it out!
