Science

At Colney Heath, we encourage children to be inquisitive about the world around them.  We believe science encompasses the acquisition of knowledge, concepts and skills through the specific disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics. Throughout these programmes of study, the children develop the key knowledge and skills which have been identified within our curriculum units and across the primary year groups. Children learn through practical experiences which ensures their Working Scientifically skills are built-on and developed during their time at the school. Our aim is to nurture creative scientists who can confidently apply their skills and knowledge to planning and conducting experiments, building arguments and explaining concepts to others. We believe our Science Curriculum will provide children with the motivation and experiences necessary to continue their science education into adulthood.
