Uniform Information

Uniform newsletter

Our pupils look smart when they come to school in our Colney Heath uniform. With the exception of the Colney Heath sweatshirt or cardigan, all items can be purchased from a variety of retailers, generic items of these are suitable. There is no requirement to wear particular options in certain seasons. All children are expected to wear the school uniform, selected from the list below:

  • Grey trousers (tailored, not leggings or joggers) / shorts or grey skirt or pinafore dress or blue/white checked dress.
  • White blouse/shirt/plain white polo shirt
  • Sweatshirt or cardigan – Navy with embroidered chest motif available from Mapac ( please note, this is our only required branded item)
  • Socks: grey, navy or white
  • Plain black shoes or trainers (no boots or logos in contrasting colours) that are suitable for both indoor and outdoor wear. In very wet weather, wellington boots can be worn, and a change of shoes brought for indoors.

Children will no longer be changing shoes as they enter/leave the building each time.

Jewellery

Children should not wear jewellery to school because of the danger during P.E. lessons and playtime activities.  This includes rings and hoop earrings.  However, if ears are pierced, plain studs are allowed - these should not have additional jewels ect.

During P.E. and Games Lessons these must either be removed by the child or covered with plasters / tape to avoid the possibility of injury.

P.E. Kit

  • Plain navy T-Shirt or navy school logo T-Shirt (available from Mapac)
  • Navy Shorts
  • Trainers for outdoor PE
  • In cold weather, children may bring leggings/joggers for outdoor PE lessons

All children need a PE bag, clearly marked with their name.  Please ensure that all clothing is clearly marked too.

Swimming

Year 3/4 children have the opportunity to go swimming.  This is at the Westminster Lodge Pool and a voluntary charge is made to cover transport.  They will need swimming trunks/costume, towel and a waterproof bag.  Goggles are only allowed on medical grounds.  Swimming takes place in the Spring Term.
