Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Yet another week in lockdown. I hope you are all keeping well and managing to adapt to our new state of ‘normal’. We are really missing all the children and school is very strange without them. We are still open every day and pleased that we can offer this essential service for our key workers.
I want to stress that the priority for us as a school is to support our families and their emotional well-being during this difficult time and acknowledge the challenges, stresses and worries that many may be facing. This could be because of illness, trying to work from home, wanting to support the children’s learning and also possibly coping with the differing demands of younger or older siblings too.
The rain hasn't helped and we hope you have managed to find interesting things to do inside Maybe you've made a den, a junk model, painted or drawn a picture. Perhaps you can let us know how you have filled your time.

We hope you are all keeping safe and well.
Children, you have been stars over the last 5 weeks . It has been lovely to see you engaging, not just in the Home Learning, but in a variety of other activities: baking, gardening, cycling, music, making videos and painting. Please continue to send in pictures and videos, the staff love seeing them.
Remember to spend some time on your mental health by using MindUp and/or stopping to listen to the birds, looking at nature, star gazing etc.
We would also like you to look after the adults in your home - make them a cup of tea, hover a room, make your bed, tidy a cupboard and tell them you love them.
Parents remember you are doing a great job with your children and at this difficult time make sure you look after yourself as well. Ideas and activities can be found for you and the children at: https://mindup.org.uk/mindup-activities/
In this uncertain time we hope you are all keeping safe and well.
Over the Easter Bank Holiday the staff have created a very special message for you all.
You can find it on our website in the main Class Page.
The school will remain open for those key worker children who need child care. The hope is that we will be able to welcome everyone back as soon as possible. We are planning to ensure this is done safely and carefully, taking into account current government and NHS advice when it happens.
Until then please continue to send us messages from the children letting us know about things you have been doing and new skills they have learnt.

We have been contacted by Andrea Hone, Patient and Carer Experience and Wellbeing Nurse at Watford General Hospital. Andrea has asked if children in the area would write letters of thanks to the nurses and medical staff at Watford General Hospital. Watford Football Club are involved and have offered to make a display of all the letters received. The Chief Executive of Watford Hospital Trust is in support and we understand that St Albans and Hemel hospitals are now also on board. This might be a nice thing for to get our pupils to get involved in especially as many of the children will have parents in the NHS. The brief is no more than a side of A4 and a message of inspiration and thanks to keep the staff going as they care for those that are very sick. If you do want to do this, letters should be emailed to:

We are only at the end of the second week of school closure and our thoughts are with all of you at this time. We hope you are keeping yourself safe.
Over the next two weeks as well as the work set by teachers we are asking all children to undertake two activities: the Campaign For Rural England art competition and the thank you letter or picture for the NHS. Details of these activities are included in another Blog sent today.
We would also like you to try something new and then tell us about it. Maybe learn a new language, make a meal, learn to juggle, plant some seeds, learn a dance or song. You could do this as a family.
Again we stress the need for you all to spend time on supporting your mental health. Please visit the MindUp website for some suggested activities
