As explained at the 'Meet the Teacher' talk, your child is getting spellings to learn, as well as reading. We will stick the weekly spellings into their reading record each Friday for a wee test on the following Thursday. The black words are recapping year 2 work, the red words follow the same phoneme pattern but are taken from the year 3 and 4 spelling list, so they may be a little harder. Go at your child's pace....if 5 is enough, then learn 5 well, if your child has already mastered those, move onto the red words. I have also put some green challenge words on to stretch your child's vocabulary. I have put all the spellings on here for you to look at. I hope that makes sense!
