Literacy

Hello Year 5, you worked so hard last term with understanding and developing your knowledge about sentences, e.g. 'what makes a sentence?', and the differences between simple, compound and complex sentences. For the first three days back to school I would like us to come back to our previous learning and refresh our knowledge about sentences.

In this lesson, you will explore simple and compound sentences. You will look at what a sentence is and how sentences are made up of clauses and phrases. You will then discuss what a main clause is and how these are used to create simple and compound sentences.

It's your time to impress your family with everything you know and with your writing skills!

Remember your high class words, and look out for the FANTASTIC BEAST (one of my favourites)!

There is a word mat in your pack that we use in class, so please remember it is there to help you.
