Head's Blog

It is our Harvest Festival celebration next week. We are asking that the children bring a non-perishable donation (tinned, packet, Jar or Bottled goods) for the St Alban's Food Bank on Monday.

Attendance

We have now had a month back at school. Please check your child's attendance on the Gateway. Some of you will see that just missing two days in a month means you have 9% absence. Four days means you have missed 17% of your education. It is important that your children miss as little as possible as this does impact on their education. Please endeavour to get them into school on time every day.

Sports Update

Five Yr6 children had a day being trained as Sports and Health Ambassadors. They will be planning activities and events for the children over the coming year. On the day they all got to meet a very famous athlete. See photograph

Football

Our squad had their first league game this week. It was a thrilling game and great to see how well they played. The final score was Colney Heath 0 Margret Wix 0.

Office News

Please return the Nasal Flu Immunisation Consent Form if you haven't already done so.  This is not due to take place till November but the School Health team need them completed in advance.

Kitchen

It's been great seeing so many more of our children enjoying a healthy meal this week.  Remember that children from Reception to Year 2 can all enjoy a Universal Meal provided by the Government at no cost.  Saving you approximately £400 per year. Fresh vegetables, salad and fruit is always available daily.

Monday's Harvest Menu is Chicken Pie or Crispy Topped Vegetarian Bake served with roasted vegetables and sweetcorn, followed by a selection of deserts including Steamed Autumn Fruit Pudding.

Tuesday - please note a change to the published menu as the vegetarian option will now be Macaroni Cheese rather than Vegetarian Roll.
