The weather is getting very cold. Please ensure your children arrive in school appropriately dressed. Can you also ensure that we have up-to-date contact information for you especially mobile phone numbers and emails.

Sports Update

Indoor Athletics

A group of Yr5/6 children took part in the St Alban's School Indoor Athletics competition. They ran, jumped and threw against a number of schools and enjoyed the competition. Thanks to Miss Franklin and Mr Martin for organising.

Football

In the league the football squad had a fantastically exciting match against Park Street. They managed to score the winning goal in the last minutes of the game winning 4 -3.

Our Yr5 children also played a friendly match against Park Street. It was an enjoyable match

Communication

As part of our School Development Plan we have been looking at our communication. From the questionnaires and emails collected last term we have started to consider what, when and how we provide information. I have put an initial summary document on the Governor Page of our website.

Also a Home Learning page has been set up on our website. Over the next few weeks we will add further information to help you support your children.

Next Week

Friday Yr3 Class Assembly 9am

Saturday Penalty Competition at St Alban's City FC in Clarence Park

Special Educational Needs

Mrs Billing, our SENCO, would like to offer monthly drop in sessions for parents or carers. These would take place on the first Tuesday morning of each month starting on the 5th February. If you have a question (however large or small) please contact the office to make an appointment.

School Dinners

We have recently seen a slight drop in the number of children having school dinners.  If there is a particular issue that you would like to discuss with the school cook, please let the office know and we will arrange a meeting.  Having a hot meal really sets the children up for the afternoon and helps them to concentrate on their work.  We pride ourselves on the flexibility of children being able to pick and choose the days they have meals and the dinners are well balanced using high quality supplies.  We would particularly encourage our years Reception to Year 2 to try the meals as the cost of these is covered by the Governments Universal Free School meal scheme.
