Art Texture Drawing lesson 2

Today in art we are going to learn about textures.

Last time we found different textures.

We rubbed them with a crayon to create a texture on the paper.

Your letter needs to include:

  • The informal letter layout (check your work from yesterday)
  • Past tense (You are writing about an event that happened last week during ½ term)
  • You need to include informal phrases (check the examples provided)

BUT what is texture?

Texture refers to the surface in a work of art. Texture is the way that things look or feel. Everything has some type of texture.

We describe things as being rough, smooth, silky, shiny, fuzzy etc that is the texture.

In this lesson, we will recap what a verb is, define a simple sentence as a main clause that makes sense on its own and write our very own simple sentences. For this lesson, you will need an exercise book or some paper and a pencil.


Geography: Researching Europe

To create a Europe Travel Passport

  1. Visit the above website.
  2. Choose 2 European countries (check you list from Lesson 1, which countries ARE in Europe!)
  3. Fill in the “My Europe Passport” with the required information.
  4. Choose and draw one of the human features of your chosen European country.

Geography: What is the geography of England?

In this lesson, we will recap our knowledge of the seven continents, and locate the UK on a world map. We will then zoom into England and look at the different human and physical geographical features. We will then combine our knowledge of all of the UK countries and design a travel brochure!

What are some of Europe's most important human characteristics?

In this lesson, you will learn about the population of Europe as well as understanding the population density in each subregion of Europe. You will study the important cities and landmarks across Europe, learning lots of new facts! Finally, you will also learn more about the economy of Europe and what is traded into (imported) and traded out of (exported) Europe.

Remember: If the teacher in the video speaks too fast, you can change the speed of the video!
