I see these birds regularly in my garden. Just beautiful.

RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch

It's time to take part. What will you see this week?

Count the birds you see in your garden or from your window for one hour between 29 and 31 January. Have a look at the type of birds you might see, make a bird fat ball or put out other food. Most importantly try to get out for a walk. Stop, listen and look out for as many different types of birds.

Don't forget to send your data to the RSPB Great Garden Bird Watch.

Children's Mental Health Week

Children’s Mental Health Week is taking place on 1-7 February 2021. This year's theme is Express Yourself.

Expressing yourself is about finding ways to share feelings, thoughts, or ideas, through art, music, writing and poetry, dance and drama, photography and film, and doing activities that make you feel good.

Dress to Express Day
On Friday 5 February I am asking the children to express themselves by wearing a colourful outfit for the day, they could wear their favourite colour or choose a range of colours that express how they’re feeling. You could even dress to express your hair as well.

I look forward to seeing you on Friday's live lesson dressed to express.

More ideas and resources can be found here: https://www.childrensmentalhealthweek.org.uk/

During Children's Mental Health Week, have fun by expressing yourself in seven different ways over seven days.

The themes are:

  • Day 1 – Create a playlist that expresses who you are as a person. Whether it’s the style, title, lyrics or beat – if it reflects you add it in.
  • Day 2 – make a word cloud of all the words that represent you. This could include your personality, feelings, passions, hobbies, dreams and more.
  • Day 3 – Choose an emotion (such as happy, excited or angry) and create a form of art that expresses this. It could be anything from a drawing, creating a dance or creating a video – get as creative as you like.
  • Day 4 – Find a quote that reflects who you are or inspires you to express who you are. Why not stick it to your wall or save it as your phone wallpaper, for a daily reminder?
  • Day 5 – Dress to Express. Forget fashion and forget what anyone else thinks – this is the day to wear an outfit that is 100% you.
  • Day 6 – Create a photo montage of everything that reflects you including all the ways that you like to express yourself. Think about your hobbies, skills, likes and passions.
  • Day 7 – Write a list of all the ways you’re going to express yourself this year.
