Week beginning 27th April

Hello Year 5, a very happy Monday to you all. I hope you and your families are all well and you have all had a lovely weekend enjoying doing something fun in the sunshine! Have a look in the folder 'Look what we have been up to at home' to see what your friends have been up to! I am thinking of you all every day and am sending you a BIG SMILE to pass around. Remember kindness and your good deeds around the house today.

Dear Parents and Carers, I just want to say thank you for everything you are doing at home to support your child with their home learning and with all the creative fun you are all having. With regards to the work set each day, please don't feel that it all has to be completed every day, there is no expectation on our part, I just want to provide you and the children with a variety of activities that they might enjoy.

The last thing I would want is for you or your child to feel anxious about how much they are achieving educationally as we know that these are extremely challenging times for us all. I truly believe in all the value that other creative ideas could achieve, like baking a cake, creating a circuit training course in the garden, looking after minibeasts, arts and craft activities, science experiments, learning a new language, learning a new dance routine, washing the car, writing a rap song or even cleaning a bedroom 😁. There is so much more to explore that is just as educational and valuable for your child to experience, and who knows, this may be the moment that your child finds an interest in something that they wish to do for the rest of their lives!

Above all, I would like to say how much you are doing a great job. Please remember that whatever you do at home is worthwhile and I applaud you for everything you are doing during this uncertain time. Take care and stay well everyone!
