Geography

At Colney Heath, our Geography Curriculum is designed to provoke and answer questions about the natural and human world, encouraging children to develop a greater understanding of their world, their place in it and the village of Colney Heath. This curriculum is accessible to all, maximising the development of every child’s ability and academic achievement in this subject.

Geography is, by nature, an investigative subject that develops an understanding of concepts, knowledge and skills. The need to be able to have an understanding of place, location and scale is important. We aim to promote children’s interest and understanding about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with an understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes such as mountains, rivers and tourism.
