Hello everyone, first of all I would like to congratulate you for your hard work over the last few weeks with learning your methods for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. You have done an amazing job. We will come back to these methods when we return to school.
Today we are going to begin some new learning about 'area'. We will start off at the beginning to remind ourselves.
Watch the lesson below and complete the task.
If you have time, complete the activity on the worksheet. Cut out and order the shapes from greatest to smallest area covered. Record the area (as squares covered) and explain how you have counted the squares efficiently.
There is also a video with 3 different fluency games to play - 'Connect 4 Multiplication', 'Multiplication Duel' and 'Mixed Up Multiplication'.
Play one game every day if you can.
