Tuesday 26th January

Goooooooood morning everyone! I hope you are all well and  happy. I miss seeing you all each day and keep telling myself this won't last forever! The sun was out yesterday and the poor snowmen near me have started the melt, in fact there are carrot noses everywhere!!!

Before we start today, just a word about prioritising work. The most important bits to do are the core subjects....Maths including Elephant Maths, writing and spelling. I will show this by the dotted line. Some of the websites I have given you were designed to help 'teach' you to teach your child but you don't have to use them if you just want to go in 'blind'. I hope that helps, I don't want to add to an already stressful situation!

So onto today....

Elephant Maths 15 (put on here yesterday)

Maths This week we are finding unknown numbers in a sum eg 24=19+________ by using cherry models and bar models. In case you have no idea what I am talking about, I have put another of my What on Earth Are You Talking about? sheets at the bottom to help explain these things. We will also do some of this in our Zoom lesson today. The sheet is at the bottom. I have also done you a paper dienes kit to help you.

Spelling Homophones This is a BBC bitesize link. If you could look at the first 2 videos  where you have to spot the homophones, that would be good. Remember your posters for tomorrow to show on Zoom.

Literacy This work is based on Coming to England. It is about writing a weather report about the UK. There is actually quite a lot to talk about in the weather at the moment......frost....rain....snow  and sun! I have explained what to do on the sheet at the bottom.
