What wonderful weather we have had this half term. Our Key Worker group has really enjoyed being outside on the field. Hopefully you have all managed to benefit from this as well.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff  who (in many different ways) have kept the school open for our Key Worker children since closure, including holidays, the half term and a bank holiday. We have only fully closed for 6 days since 20th March.

We are now preparing for the next stage to  bring back children from Reception, Year 1 and Year 6.  Over the coming weeks Home Learning will change and there will be less teacher feedback. This is because in order to bring these year groups back safely all teachers will be in teaching every day we are open.

As always keep sending emails and messages to us at school, we will endeavour to get back to you as quickly as possible.

Fri 22 May 2020 Mr Rose

The weather this week has been glorious. Hopefully you have all managed to get out and enjoy it.

Please remember this is now the beginning of what would have been half term with bank holiday Monday. Try to take a break from your normal routines. Do less Home Learning and try to do something different. Maybe learn a few words of Spanish or the words of a popular song, build a den, write a poem, see how far you can throw a ball.. there is so much you could try.

Our website is full of ideas so please visit each classes page to see what they have been up to.

We understand that it has been difficult balancing work and looking after the children over the past few months.  It has been lovely and amazing to see the creative ways you have devised to keep your children occupied during this lock down. As possibly this lock down begins to change, hopefully over the coming month or two, we will endeavour to let you know our plans as soon as is possible. The safety of your children, the staff and yourselves will be paramount in everything we will do.

Message From Mrs Sheila Thorpe (Parent Support Worker)

Sheila has taken up a new role working for the library service. She was unable to say a proper good bye to the school community but has promised to visit us once everyone is back. She has asked me to highlight that the library service is providing a number of online services:

    Morning

I hope you all found a way to celebrate VE day yesterday in the sunshine. It would be lovely if you could share that with us. Send us photos so we can show the whole school community on our website.

I have put a book on the website, with our Newsletters, which explains the Coronavirus to children. There are many places for you to find suitable material for children to help them understand the current situation.

Remember this is an anxious time for everyone especially our children. Knowledge and understanding is important.

Hope to see you all when it is safe to do so.
